Okay, I swear, it’s not just because she’s brown, but I’m still more obsessed with Kate and Anthony than the romantic figures in season 3 of Bridgerton.
But that said, yes, I binged the rest of the season today, and I was quite pleased with some of the changes they rang on the book series — and that’s as specific as I’m going to get for now, because it only dropped yesterday, so we’re still very much in NO SPOILERS land.
Let’s give it at least a week before we spill any tea, okay? But vague commentary is welcome below. 🙂
Oh, and I thought you’d be amused to learn that Kavi relayed that apparently the TikTok crowd is outraged (OUTRAGED!) by the historical innacuracies in season 3.
Me: Oh? What specifically bothered them?
Kavi: People are super-mad that one of the characters announced she was ‘pregnant,’ rather than saying she was ‘with child.’
Me: And all the Black people didn’t bother them??? (Not to mentions the South Asians, East Asians, etc. and so on….)
Kavi: Also, they think the new Francesca has too modern a face.
Me: What do they mean by modern?
Kavi: They think she has the face of someone who knows what an iPhone is. So now there’s a big TikTok trend of people posting their faces and asking if people think they look like they know what an iPhone is…
I don’t even know what to do with that.
I was relaying all of this to some friends later, and as my friend said, it’s actually super-charming that the youngsters take all the POC lords and ladies and interracial relationships absolutely in stride, and THIS is what bothers them. 🙂 🙂 🙂
P.S. I want Kate Sharma’s entire wardrobe. And another 8.5 inches in height to go with it. And the balls to wear the dresses to. I would learn how to dance properly, I swear.

P.P.P.S. When I went looking for a photo to use for this, I ran across something from a year ago speculating about a Kate / Anthony spin-off series, and I say YES YES YES. It’s probably not going to happen, but that would be awesome.
