John Cabot rose — this is a hardy Canadian rose, and even though it does reach for the sun, most of its blooms are under the shade of the redbud tree.
Despite the limited sun, this is the first rose to bloom in my garden, and generally blooms profusely. Very thorny — recommend elbow-length leather rose gloves if you’re pruning!
