Foxgloves are starting to open, accompanied by two kinds of catmint / nepeta — the one in the back is Walker’s Low, the ones in the front, just added, is Cat’s Pajamas. Which is supposed to be small, but since it’s new this year, I’m not sure if it stays quite this small? We’ll see.
These are probably cultivated perennial foxgloves (I don’t remember). The wildflower version is biennial, so it set seeds one year and blooms the next year. So if you want to stick to the biennials and have flowers every year, you’ll want to plant them two years in a row. After that, they should alternate, so you’ll have foxgloves every year. I think? I haven’t actually tried doing this, so it’s all theoretical for me. 🙂
