Added a few little native irises (one white, one pale purple) at the base of this allium schubertii, paired with a silvery artemisia. Trialing the irises in this parkway spot — if they seem happy here, I’ll add more.
Big irisis seem to love my parkway, where they bake in sun and rarely get watered. I’m not sure if these little natives like the same conditions, though. We’ll see!
(This particular allium isn’t hardy in our zone, but it’s going to make gigantic dramatic starbursts very soon — I love it enough that I order and plant a few every fall.)
