The native version is wild hyacinth April 26, 2024 / Serendib Garden / By Mary Anne Mohanraj Camassia. The native version is wild hyacinth, which I believe was a significant food source for Native Americans (known as ‘quamash’) — I think this is a more recent cultivar.
