Native double bloodroot. Gorgeous, reminiscent of a gardenia in form, tiny, slow to spread. This one was gifted from a neighbor a few years ago; I bought and planted a few more last year, but they haven’t come up yet, I think. Eventually, I’d love to have a whole colony of them, so I can also give them away….we’ll see!
It’d look like this: http://www.arcadiandaylilies.com/DoubleBloodroot.html
The single bloodroot (sanguinaria canadensis) is also pretty, but not quite so dramatic.
