Made some new space jewelry for Sprout — I’m keeping the one I’m wearing in the first pic, but if you want any of the others, holler. Planning to take them down to the store before Saturday’s launch party. $18 each.
Steps pictured:
• lay out pieces on packing tape and press down firmly to seal edge
• carefully pour UV resin into each (this would’ve been easier if I hadn’t accidentally thrown out the little nozzle that came with the bottle, had a bit of spillage, sigh)
• place space findings as desired
• blast with UV light for 2 minutes to cure and harden; if it doesn’t seem completely set, repeat; I usually flip it all over and blast it again on the back, just to make sure anything blocked by the metal of the findings also gets cured
• peel off from tape and break off any excess resin, sand if needed
• clean off any tape residue (so far, Goo Gone seems to work best for me)
• add link ring and chain — you’re done! Well, except for putting it on card, adding it to the shop online inventory, getting it to the store so people can actually buy it….
