Trends is closing. End of an era, people.

I am a little bereft that my favorite local clothing store, Trends, is closing. At least a third of my wardrobe probably comes from there, and I’ve also consigned a lot of clothes there over the years, which helped fuel my consignment shopping habit. It’s perfect for someone as novelty-seeking as me — clothes come in, clothes go out again. I don’t think we have another good consignment store anywhere close, v. sad. (If I’m wrong, tell me.)

But I swung by today, and even though they only announced the closure yesterday, the sale is big and clothes are going fast. I did pick up several items (for $10 or $20 each, mostly), along with this fabulous designer dress by Misha that I have NO IDEA where I might wear it. Where do you wear such a thing? (In case it’s not clear, it’s sort of a normal dress until just above the knees, then there’s a long sexy black mesh kind of thing, then more of the dress.)

Probably more important, they’re also selling their fixtures, so I have actually picked up my own mannequin, which means that in a few weeks, I’ll be able to give back the dress form that was loaned to me previously. She served me very well! I also picked up some wall hooks and jewelry display items.

There’s quite a lot of display stuff left, including GIANT mirrors for only $100, so I recommend stopping by tomorrow, locals, if you’re looking for that kind of thing. Several display tables, lots more mannequins, etc.

Trends is closing. End of an era, people. Even if it’ll help kit out my tiny shop at Berwyn Sprout a little more, I sad.
