Paper hearts for the store

Hosted a community event last night, which was fun, but have been moving very slowly today. Little bits of cleaning up post-event, little bits of cooking, lots of noticing that my nose is cold.

I’ve spent most of the afternoon making paper hearts for the store while watching Northern Exposure (recently added to Prime), which feels very appropriate for how cold it is here right now. I don’t THINK I need to leave the house for the next three days, which I’m grateful for.

I’m not positive what I’m doing with the hearts, but I *think* I’ll be using them as a backdrop for a photo booth at the store, so people can come in and take Valentine’s photos, with their sweetie, their kids, by themselves, etc. I have a plan. It may involve also dragging in Anand’s giant stuffed teddy bear (he gave me permission)…

A few of them might also end up on greeting cards in the shop. That’d be cute.

I think I’m going to drag a heater up from the basement (our living room has the leakiest old windows, and it’s the chilliest room, and some years we put plastic over the windows, which helps a lot, but we haven’t gotten around to it this year, and may not…). I have a clay project I wanted to work on, but if I’m going to stay in this room for it (the one next to the little oven I need to bake the clay), it’d be nice to have it warmer…

(I also tried making a bird, which went fine, but wasn’t going to be fast. I prioritize fast for store decor!)
