I’ve been reading up on shop window display — one recommendation is to change your windows every two weeks, because after that, frequent passersby tend to start ‘edtiting it out’ of their minds. Not sure I can manage every two weeks, but trying to do monthly for now, at least.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for January, but after a bit of library browsing, I think I have a tentative plan:
January shop window theme: Hygge!
- bring from home papasan or other cozy chair
- both of our IKEA fuzzy white throws on the floor
- layered neutral blankets (including at least one from the comfort project booth in the store (they donate a blanket to the homeless for every one purchased))
- end table with beverage (cute travel mug from one of the shops?)
- basket of yarn and crochet project in process
- stack of books / cookbooks
- plenty of twinkle lights (and leave the lit birch tree?)
- chalkboard sign and easel with the following:
JANUARY TO DO:
1) cook something new
2) drink something delicious
3) learn to crochet
4) read a good book
5) light lots of candles
6) take a luxurious bath
7) snuggle up and nap!

I’m sure it’ll evolve, but something along those lines. I’m going to give the borrowed dress form a break, I think, but bring her back with something fabulous for Valentine’s Day…
