So, these didn’t come out quite the way I’d hoped.

I think I know what went wrong, though. The Arteza clay is a little soft, and so when I ran the pumpkin embossing roller over it, it sometimes picked up bits of clay; I think Fimo clay might work better, and I’m going to try that next.

Also, I tried embossing over the baked clay, which I thought might help highlight the pumpkin pattern, and it sort of worked? But as you can see it’s pretty uneven in the results (and I’m not practiced at embossing and it made a huge mess with the heat gun blowing the embossing powder around, gah).

I think next time, I’d like to try adding gold mica powder BEFORE I bake, so I don’t have to worry about embossing. Will be interested to see how that goes.

(I’m putting these in the store anyway – they’re imperfect, but sort of charming? Dropping them off later today.)
