Business question — I need to use UPC codes for the inventory tracking system at the new Berwyn Sprout shop. It looks like I have to buy them, the same way I have to buy ISBNs for the books I create. So, here’s my questions:
1) If some of the items are books, and already have ISBNs, do they also need a separate UPC? (I’m guessing yes.)
2) Let’s say I make ‘small resin bookmarks,’ and price them all the same, but they are individually different. I’m assuming I just need a UPC for the category ‘small resin bookmark,’ not for each individual item? (And that I can assign an internal SKU if I do want to track the individual items?)
