Anand says, “One of the best parts of turning 14 is that I can call all my friends ‘kids,’ because none of them are 14 yet.”
Apparently 13 is a kid, but 14 is not? I don’t make up the rules, folks, I just report from the front lines…
Set up in photo for Anand’s very low-key 14th birthday party. He wanted:
• pasta with red sauce (Kevin will make)
• chocolate cake (I picked up three different round ones at Jewel, so we’ll do a chocolate cake tasting, which he’s excited about), plus berries
• a few friends over for video gaming and board gaming
That’s it. So I’ve put out some bowls of chips, his first friend has arrived and they’ve gone upstairs to play video games ’til the rest get here, and I think my hosting duties are mostly done, which is good, because I have a LONG to-do list to get the shop set up by Wednesday! So far this morning, I’ve ironed and cut some tea towels, and assembled an earring rack. SO many more things to go. Maybe I’ll post the list in the next post…
Complicated weekend — Homecoming, birthday party, open a store… Never a dull moment…
