Weekend alteration project, about 30 minutes. This was a great Indian silk top that I loved the print on and the feel. But it was cut extremely full, which is fine, but not a style I prefer on me. (I am very short, and if I wear something like this, I feel like I’m drowning in fabric.)
So I laid it out on the cutting table, with another shirt that fits me well in a similar style (flowy) laid out on top. I used that as a guide and cut around it, leaving an extra inch or so for the hemming. I cut one side, then folded it over to cut the same line on the other side.
Then it was just a matter of running a seam down both sides, and boom, done!
