My polling place is two blocks away, at my kids’ school, and I passed lots of gorgeous magnolias on the way. I do not have any magnolias of my own, alas. I’m not sure I could cram another tree, or even a shrub, into my garden, but oh, it’s tempting to try.
(You have to be careful, because sneaky trees end up casting shade, so then that changes how many or at least what kind of flowers you can grow on the ground….)
