This is the cutting garden — lots of daffodil shoots, mostly, but there are some tulips and smaller bulbs in there too. I really like being able to cut big bouquets for the house without denuding my garden beds; that’s what a cutting garden is for.
Daffodils are great because they multiply here, so every year there are more and more of them — when I cut flowers for the house, I just cut the stems and leave the leaves, so they can continue soaking up sunshine and feeding the bulbs as they wither. Eventually I’ll run out of space for daffodils, but that’s fine — I can just start giving them away then.
I’ll lift some and move them into the garden beds at some point, to make room for veggies here, but I usually leave a fair bit in some of the beds.
