Not sure how they’ll end up in a pattern in the end, but it was fun looking at medieval and ancient manuscripts, medals, coins, etc., and drawing all the different unicorns on them.
The central one is from an Indus Valley seal, 3rd millennium civilization. I haven’t researched this extensively, but I did go to a lovely unicorn museum in England, and my impression is that the European unicorn concept was actually drawn from these images (and maybe ancient Chinese qilin?)
