More soap experiments for Patreon “Unicorn Garden” spring treat boxes. I think I like this kind of bicolor soap more than hand-painting — just personally, it’s more my aesthetic? Feels sort of sweetly Victorian in this instance.
This technique does require a good mold, with sufficient depth carving to let you do multiple layers and pop — if you look closely, you’ll see that this one isn’t quite perfect, because the back wing wasn’t very depressed, and so the white soap didn’t spill into it. Still pretty charming, though. The sort of thing you could tweak if you were designing your soap molds with a 3D printer…
