I admit, I found it a little terrifying having so many small children waving pointy stakes with flaming marshmallows around, with much shrieking. Their parents seemed chill, though, so I tried to hide my freakout.

Apparently if you don’t have a sandpit, a gravel area will do for digging.

We’re a little harried with party prep, but Sharmila got us all Thai food from Mama Thai around the corner and we stuffed ourselves. Not fancy Thai, but solid and reasonably priced. Sharmila lives in DC, and my second cousin Lakshi lives in Toronto; I think they were a little jealous of our local restaurant

For Kavi’s final in culinary class, she had to make biscuits. She brought one home for me, and she’d better get an A! Yum.
