Serendib Garden

Little walk around the front garden on my way to swim. Crocus tommasinianus (“tommies”) and snowdrops (plant as bulbs in fall), hellebores.

Garden log 2/25/24. Thinned first batch of seedlings — or rather, I showed my 16-year-old how to do it, because it makes me feel like a plant murderer. I admit, I am probably overly-influenced by charming names: Blue Cream Berries, Violet Jasper, Sunrise Bumblebee, Indigo Cherry Drops.

Garden log 2/22/24. First crocus of the season — species crocus tommasinianus, aka ‘tommies,’ squirrel and deer resistant. Also giant snowdrop (most of mine are the standard smaller species, galanthus nivalis, but long ago, someone gifted me some giant snowdrops).
