Unexpectedly Dramatic

Well, yesterday was unexpectedly dramatic. At 3:45 or so, I was checking over my forms one more time, before heading over to Matt Fruth’s home to have them notarized. Just sort of obsessively double-checking, just in case. I had this weird little sense of uneasiness about the petition form, and I didn’t know why, but […]

A School Funding Question

(EDITING TO NOTE: I really am mostly looking for responses relevant to Illinois, thanks!) Hey, here’s a school funding thing I’d like to understand better, esp. as I get ready to run for school board. I have the vague impression that the funding our schools get from the state of Illinois is dependent on days

The Ultimate

Sustenance for the body and soul, as I ran around collecting signatures today — The Daly Bagel’s “The Ultimate” sandwich, a bagel with whitefish spread, pickled red onions, and cucumber. 50 Signatures

Quick note that I have 50 signatures now, which is sufficient to get on the ballot for the D200 (high school) school board. 4 Signatures So Far

Set up outside the Daly Bagel (130 Chicago Ave), if you’d like to swing by and sign my D200 school board petition! Plan to be here until 1. 4 signatures so far! I’m also collecting signatures for Madhurima Chakraborty, who is running for library board.

Signing and Cookies

D200 school board petitions are out on the porch for signing! Please ring the doorbell if you come by; petitions must be witnessed by the gatherer. (Warning: cookies may not last the next two hours — I’m now thinking the rascally squirrels may get them. Oops. They are pistachio sugar cookies & have nuts.)
