If I could lie on a beach for thirty minutes every day

Well, that was a LONG travel day.

Partly, I guess, because I have been so heavily scheduled the last week (self-inflicted, mostly), that I didn’t even start packing until around 10 this morning (we were leaving the house at 11:15). Landed at LAX around 3, got bags and got shuttle to rental car around 4, turned out they’d given away our reservation, went to another rental car place down the street, finally got into rental car around 5, drove to dinner and chilled out at Hermosa Beach until traffic let up around 7:15, and then drove an hour and a bit to our hotel, arriving at 8:30 p.m.

Which is 10:30 p.m. in Chicago, which is past my bedtime. 12.5 hours of mostly travel, with a meal and a bit of beach in there.

But was very grateful for the half hour lounging on the beach. If I could lie on a beach for thirty minutes every day, I’d be more generally sane, I suspect.

(Pic #5 is by Kavi, of me.)

Scripps tour at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, so it’s bedtime for us.
