I think my political job right now is to show solidarity

I’m trying not to lose the day to obsessing about politics, but it’s hard. I took some time this morning to write and post one thing I thought might be helpful, but mostly, I think my political job right now is to show solidarity (done!), think about when I can host a postcards-to-voters session (soon!), and keep myself sane.

Mostly focused on the garden this week, prepping it for the native garden walk on Saturday. Alternating with story revisions, finishing up various resin pieces and getting them in the mail, and of course, there’s always backlogged e-mail.

Plus, this week I’m mostly unscheduled, so I’m hoping to use it to finish getting the house and garage in order — I’ve been working on that all summer, off and on, but of course, entropy intervenes, and laundry is endless. It’d be really nice to start the semester with a clean house — I’m mostly given up on the idea of starting it with an empty inbox, alas.

Pictured — the first of the tomatoes and peppers harvested (I might have picked that purple one a little early, oops — got too excited), and a new native swamp rose mallow (big! dramatic!) has put out its first bloom. Love it.
