Okay, so riddle me this. I adore Hawai’i, and the Bay Area, but can’t afford them. A lot of what I adore is the climate; it just makes me happy to be comfortable outdoors, and because of my thyroid condition, I don’t adapt well to very hot or very cold; I exist best in a narrow temperate range.
Where (in the U.S., at least for now) can you find roughly 70F daytime temperature most of the year (okay if it’s cooler in morning and evening), for not a million dollars? I’m mostly talking about reasonably cheap land — no need for a fancy house. Someplace I could pitch a tent or bring a camper or build a shack.
Nearby ocean or woods a definite massive plus, but not required. Okay if it’s an hour or two from major cities, but needs a grocery store reasonably nearby.
Bonus if it isn’t plagued with mosquitoes, so you can actually spend lots of time outside without slathering yourself in stinky repellent.
I don’t know what I’d do with this information — it’s not like we have extra money for buying land. But maybe when we downsize, assuming the kids’ college doesn’t cost TOO much, we set aside a little bit for this? We could share it with some friends?
Please enjoy this delightful 30 second rushing river video. I love this SO MUCH.
