Having a bit of a hard day. I guess I kept myself pretty busy all weekend with the con, and I had teaching Friday and Monday, so those were busier days, but today I’m just working at home, which leaves too much time for thinking and being sad. Sigh.
But there have been some nice things. The next Wild Cards book I’m in, Sleeper Straddle, comes out today — oddly, the manuscript seems to have disappeared off my computer, so I can’t post an excerpt, but I’m trying to dig that up, so hopefully soon. My story is titled “The Bloody Eagle,” which seems extremely dramatic in retrospect, but I suppose it’s a pretty dramatic story, so okay.
I roasted spices for curry powder, and then Eliana ground and packed it up with cookbooks and shipped them for me, and I think I’m getting better at getting orders out quickly, so that’s nice.
I made some more soaps (see recent post), and now I’m trying to figure out how to package them for sale. I like having them just out in the store, so you can see them well, but it’d be nice to have gift boxes for people to take away with them.
Do you think I should put some tissue paper in the bottom of the box, so there isn’t so much empty space above this soap? Or, I suppose I could package them as a set of two? (Though this time around, the colors won’t match, because I made each one slightly different.)
Thoughts welcome.
