Writing accountability — 30 minutes, 461 words. Slow start this morning — I had a board-related meeting last night from 8:30 – 9:30, so it was a long day, and I’m taking it a little easy today.

Main goals for the day:

  • clear paperwork off desk — DONE
  • call re: selling items at garden store — DONE
  • make good progress on e-mails (should really spend 2-3 hours on them today, sigh)
  • clear paperwork off kitchen table (are you sensing a theme?)
  • finish putting away laundry
  • make doctor calls for K
  • figure out what’s happening with loaner car (it got a flat yesterday, I am cursed) and with my car
  • pack up milk toffee for orders
  • have Stephanie Bailey make shipping labels
  • run things over to post office

What I really want to do is finish reading Menewood, which is SO GOOD (read Hild first, also great), so I’m probably going to reward myself with chapters of that in between work…

If I make good progress on the computer work, I may allow myself to do a little crafting. We’ll see!

Onwards.

An immense shape was approaching – it looked huge, at least twice as large as Cankili. Dark and menacing, arrowing towards the three of them.

Shanthi shied away automatically, trying to hide behind Cankili, bumping up against his slick, shimmering scales.

‘It’s all right, it’s all right. This is Sithara. She won’t hurt you.’

‘She’s so big!’

‘Well, she’s female.’
