Okay, ready for some last-minute holiday shopping? This is my big wrap-up post with lots of pictures. Some stuff just for locals, but some things for online shoppers too – e-books make a great gift! No shipping costs! 🙂.
And did you know we have Serendib House e-gift cards? Easy to use at the online shop, but I’m also happy to work with people to redeem them for items at the in-person shops!
*****
I’ve just brought some new items to the Serendib House booth at Berwyn’s Sprout incubator project. Blooming flower trays and coasters, pressed flower serving board (food-safe for light use, I wouldn’t cut meat on it), gold flake tray (lovely for entertaining or on a vanity), tiered server (and yes, that’s real fruit embedded in the layers — you dry it first, just like with pressed flowers).
(Sprout is in Cermak Plaza, 22nd and Harlem, next to the Party City and Tony’s (get your groceries in the same trip!), 7129 Cermak Road.)
And of course, you can also pick up my cookbooks, cancer memoir, little Oak Park romance there, along with a host of handmade pressed flower and paper ornaments, resin & flower bookmarks, holiday-themed jewelry, stationery, tea towels, and really ridiculously more, along with booths from dozens of other indie makers (most of them women of color).
Some of the items I particularly love are the gorgeous candles from Nusku Decor (the booth next to mine), the soaps from Dive Bar, the adorable stuffies at Whimsical Wallflowers, and the handmade crochet work (Pokeball hats!) from Karla Crochets.
You can also find my signed cookbooks, homemade Sri Lankan curry powder, hand-sewn indie-designed tea towels, and food-themed jewelry (saffron thread, chili flake, gold leaf) at Carnivore Oak Park (for an eco-friendly gift, try skipping the wrapping paper and bundling a few lovely items up in a tea towel).
And you can order books and tea towels from me online at http://www.serendibshop.com — I’m out of town now, but contact me if you want to arrange porch pick-up over the holidays; my house sitter might be able to oblige!
