Kavi and I spent a while this morning with Gilmore Girls in the background, working on taking my Tamil Vowels tea towel design and trying it in autumn colors. I think we’ve got it to some options that may work — the next step is uploading to Spoonflower and order some proof copies to check the colors.
I’m wondering whether it would be better with some kind of border — I feel like it looks a little unfinished, perhaps? Hmm…
We also spent a while consulting picture books and storyboarding a possible picture book we might do together. I really like working with Kavi. She takes art direction so well — she’s immensely cheerful and patient while I vaguely wave my arms around and say, over and over, ‘Can you make it more like this?’ 
Well, I need to stop putzing with all of that now, because I have a board retreat this afternoon (1-5), and I’d best eat something, shower and dress, and organize my notes for the retreat.
But it was a lovely morning, and even if she does end up becoming a doctor, I’m kind of hoping she does illustration on the side…
