Plans for the Weekend

I was glad the board meeting ended early enough that I could have dinner at a reasonable hour (totally not something you can count on for board meeting nights!). I don’t normally order fries, but the hotel’s sea salt fries with harissa aioli were calling me, and I’m really glad I ordered them, because that harissa aioli was exceedingly more-ish. (Zino restaurant bar menu, at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley).

The albondigas (beef & pork meatballs) were fine, but the other standout of the meal was the dessert — I indulged with an ice cream sundae, and I would never have thought to put pomegranate molasses on rose ice cream, but it was DELICIOUS.

And you know what? I happen to have:

– pomegranate molasses in the pantry
– a plethora of roses in the garden
– heavy cream in the fridge
– an ice cream maker

I now have PLANS for the weekend.
