Kavi came home last night from a three-day trip with her friends in Michigan, and she’s leaving tomorrow afternoon for a month in Argentina, and my baby is getting really BIG and I can’t even. Kevin and I were watching a TV show yesterday with a cute baby, and I was all ‘remember when Kavi was that TINY AND WEE, and she was SO CUTE’ and he was all ‘that’s how they get you…’
I just made Kavi sit down with me and listen to close to an hour-long lecture on safety in a foreign country and a big city (Buenos Aires) that isn’t Oak Park, which she listened to very patiently. I’m sure she’ll be FINE, she doesn’t drink or do drugs and she’s promised me that she’s not going to start in Argentina and I believe her…
…and the program people have emphasized that the students aren’t supposed to go anywhere alone, so it will all be FINE FINE FINE, but you should all know that I’m just going to be over here having a quiet meltdown in the back of my head until she gets home again on July 9.
Please DO NOT tell me about disastrous study abroad experiences right now. You can save those stories for after she gets back.
