Emily Mah Tippetts took Alex and me to lunch with Sarah S.E. Burr, another Santa Fe genre writer. (There are so many of them!). Sarah was lovely, lunch at Bumblebee’s Baja Grill Cerillos ditto — it was a casual Mexican place, inexpensive, but the shrimp taco was still notably better than any I’ve had in Chicago, and the flan ditto — that toasted coconut, yum. So nice having Emily as local guide!
I did get myself one indulgence while wandering around the downtown shopping district, a gorgeous jacket / top thingie, with a leaf pattern. I’m a sucker for leaf patterns! It was more than I usually spend on clothes, AND I’m not supposed to be buying things right now if I can help it (new roof, sigh), but it’s going to be a great performance piece for the future, and I hope that my future is going to have lots of live performances in it.
Publish books / COVID ends / lots of readings, please!
(The shop owner swore up and down that it was marked down to a third of the original price, but I have no idea if that’s actually true. Maybe!)
