I didn’t take any photos at Muir Woods because Anand was in a crabby mood — he’d woken up at 3 a.m. CA time because he normally wakes up at 5-6 a.m. at home, and hadn’t been able to go back to sleep, so by early afternoon he was crashing hard from the jet lag, poor kiddo.
So I’m afraid Anand didn’t get that much out of Muir Woods, despite all my efforts to convey how cool the redwoods were. Alas, but we’ll almost certainly go back another time, and he’ll get another chance to appreciate them.
We split up the group and took him back to the car to rest while the others finished the hike — Christa got this cool shot of Kavi and her kids, and Anand, Alex, and I got hot chocolate and a brownie from the gift shop cafe, and had a nice debate about Star Wars vs. Star Trek, which cheered him right up.
Strategic parenting choices for the win.
