After getting my first vaccination shot yesterday (huzzah), I went to Trader Joe’s and bought some $10 hellebores to celebrate. I planted one in a planter in my parkway strip yesterday. It probably won’t stay there — in a month or so, I’ll start working more seriously in the ground, and at that point, I’ll move it into the ground, so it can have a good chance of coming back in future years.
But for now, I hope it brings passersby a little joy as we move through this strange time. May all of you get your vaccination appointments quickly. I’m crossing my fingers for you all.
