It was supposed to be 83F yesterday, but I’m dubious — it was grey and overcast most of the day, so it never really felt that warm. But I planted a bunch of tulip and camassia bulbs (tried planting the camassia together this time, wonder if I’ll regret that, think I maybe should have spaced them out more, oh well…) and got nice and sweaty, so I decided to try one more dip in the pool.
We’re getting very close to the end of the season, I think — I might swim again today (high of 78F), but tomorrow it’s dropping into the 60s. The pool temp was 64F yesterday, which requires a certain amount of fortitude for me to climb in. It’s fine once I start actually swimming, so maybe I can swim when it’s a little colder too? Well, we’ll see. I think it’s coming down this week.
I’m really glad we got it, though, and will be happy to set it up again next summer and likely for several summers to come, even if it does eat a huge amount of the backyard. I do really love swimming, and if I’m looking for something to help me relax, it’s pretty high on the list.
A backyard above-ground pool is not exactly a visit to the pleasure planet of Risa, but it’s not bad.
