A few weeks ago, I stopped by the local nursery, where I found they were practically giving away cabbages and mums. Ten bucks got me enough plants to thoroughly fill this planter, and even though it's the end of the season, they've given me (and hopefully, the neighbors) a few weeks of pleasure. I haven't been out yet today; I suspect the mums didn't survive this weekend's thirty-degree high temps. But the cabbages (and lingering ivy) should last a few weeks more. Apparently, even though it's almost December, I am not ready to give up on my outdoor garden yet.
Indoors, the first round of paperwhites are coming up, the Christmas cacti are starting to bloom, and I'm going to get my amaryllis and round two of paperwhites potted today, I swear. I've never done poinsettias before, but I think this year, I may. Flowers year-round; that's the plan. And before you know it, the snowdrops and hellebores will be blooming�
