I’ve finally managed to revert the rights to Bodies in Motion — mine, mine, all mine! It’s been a much longer saga than it should have been, but that’s a story for another day. I think it does mean if Anthropic actually pays for stealing books, I might get some money. Aside from that….
…I think I’m supposed to re-release it myself now? That’s what you do with your backlist, right? Thoughts welcome.
HarperCollins still has the rights to the cover art and design, so first step is designing a new cover, I think? And taking my original word file and making my own ebook from it?
I’m still really proud of that book. I worked on it for four years, and it’s one of the best things I’ve done. It had a good run when it first came out, translated into six languages, glowing reviews, but that was 20 years ago.
I’d love more people to see it and read it and hopefully love it.
The book is about Sri Lankans, but this photo is Kaua’i. Both islands, though!
