Schedule for the last two days:
Friday 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.: work at top speed, finishing as many tables, bookends, etc. as possible, pausing to say hi to Benjamin Rosenbaum (he’s staying with us for the week to teach the workshop)
Friday 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.: staff store, supervise handyman for a few hours fixing various things (the shelving unit is now attached to the wall, huzzah), help Steph Bailey Photo and Larissa Franklin add more of their prints and cards to the store (well, mostly Steph did that, but I chatted with them while they worked), put out and price new items, re-do window displays for event
Friday 7 – 9 p.m. — head home, say hi to Ben again, grab Kevin to help me (mostly because I’m getting tired), go to Whole Foods / Walgreens to pick up meds, return something, and get some supplemental groceries for the week-long workshop (got the bulk of the supplies at Costco on Wednesday).
9 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. — introduce Ben to West Wing, take bath, set alarm for 6 a.m., and try to sleep, too buzzed with to-do list to sleep for a while, but eventually manage to crash.
6 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. — throw on yesterday’s clothes, go to studio, drop off tent and various other items, do some set-up, including assembling giant crepe paper poppy.
7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. — go home, shower and dress, set out breakfast food for workshop, which starts today — Ben is teaching an ideation workshop and Alec Nevala-Lee is teaching a novelette workshop. Connor Nevitt is supporting them, along with volunteer high schooler Akash — thanks, Akash! Eat breakfast.
(Do you think I got enough food? — we have about 12 people, I think, between workshop attendees, staff / volunteers, my family. We’re ordering Giordano’s Chicago pizza & salad for lunch.)
9 a.m. – 11:30 — come back to studio, set up tent and tables for outdoor space, say hi to the knitters, spend all my normal knitting time doing set-up with Jennifer Bolino, who’ll be staffing my tent for the first part of the day.
11:30 – 7 p.m. today — the festival has started, the live jazz is going next door, and I am ready to chill for a while. 
In theory, the art festival part ends at 7 p.m., so I might close up then, but the food vendors and live music go ’til 9, so if I have the energy, I’ll try to stick it out ’til 9. Well see! The workshop starts with breakfast at 8 tomorrow morning, followed by a full day of critiquing…
