New in studio — but this one isn’t for sale. Tomorrow is Kavi’s 19th birthday, which is difficult to comprehend, but okay. She has a lot of rings, so I thought it’d be fun to make her a ring holder.
The flowers are hyacinth blooms — one of Kavi’s middle names is Jacintha (named after my mom), which means ‘hyacinth flower.’ Of course, that’s the Greek version of the name (a variant of Jacinta), and not the Tamil one, but we’ll take it anyway…
I’m honestly not sure if Kavi will like or use this, but hopefully she’ll appreciate the thought, anyway!
I’ll be making more ring holders this week, I think, so there should be some in studio by next week.
Saturday the 30th is the What’s Blooming Festival on Harrison, and we’re expecting a few thousand people to attend. I’m trying not to stress about not having enough stock — the temptation is to run myself into the ground producing as much as possible, but I’m still getting over being sick, and the end of the semester, so I’m trying very hard to take it easy. Plan for today is to mostly sit in my comfy chair in the studio and do computer work. Very restful. And, if they clean me out, I guess that’s a good problem to have. 🙂
(Funny — a song Kavi played for me just came up on the rotation — if I believed in the gods, I’d think it was a sign. “Mama Stay,” by Faye Webster. Three more weeks until she comes home…)
