Lots of good things, actually

Okay, co-writing at the store today. Took one last look at the story I wrote last week, and sent it out for critique. I always tell my students about to be critiqued ‘no disclaimers,’ but I totally added a disclaimer this time, am feeling so discouraged about my fiction writing. Sigh.

Well, it’s out, which I guess is good, even if it feels very, “Good night, Wesley. I’ll probably kill you in the morning.” It’s tomorrow’s problem now.
I’m still really exhausted from the trip — Kavi kept me up late most nights, and I was two hours’ jet-lagged, and then hosted an event Friday night — I kind of zombied my way through my shift yesterday, and then came home and collapsed in the hammock for a few hours. Finished reading Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Shroud, one of the Hugo nominees. Still not sure what I think of it; pondering.

But the weather was perfect yesterday, and today is pretty good too, which is something. And I had leftover biryani (from the potluck) and curry (from before I left, frozen to save it) for dinner last night and breakfast this morning, so that’s good too. There’s lots of good things, actually — just wish I were a little less TIRED.

(I am impressed at Arya’s ability to climb into a hammock.)
