My friend Alex has a houseboat, and was kind enough to loan it out to me as a guest room. It was just lovely, and I definitely had some daydreams of retiring to a houseboat someday. Unlikely, given costs and lack of gardening space, but I was impressed with how much gardening the inhabitants did manage to do.
I particularly loved this walkway lined with an enormous array of plants — if you watch the video, you can also hear Alex and David chatting in the background about the costs for living in such a place. 🙂
Alex says when the tide is high, the boat rocks gently in its slip, and he sleeps really well. So nice…
