I worked really hard the last three days — too hard, and slept badly, and overextended myself, and got cold and shaky and a little bit weepy and had to put myself to bed early both Saturday and Sunday. Sigh. Going to go to bed early again tonight, and hopefully will be back to normal tomorrow.
I do try not to work TOO hard, but sometimes, I misestimate my capabilities.
But there were still a lot of nice moments in the last few days. Here’s a few:
• one of our grad students, Alex Kingsley, interviewed me for their podcast (it may be a bit before it’s available, because our grad students are now on strike. Hang in there, folks — no wages, no pages!)
• a pair of friends took my UV resin class, and made two items each — barrette, two bookmarks, and a letter keychain. I really like the ombre effect of the white backing going to transparent on the keychain; I told her I was probably going to steal that. But the best part was watching them visibly relax as they played with flowers
• only one person showed up for board game night, but we had fun! Kyle and I ended up playing two Victorian flower games — first a quick round of Tussie Mussie, and then a nice long game of Botany, which I’m still really enjoying playing. He trounced me at both of them, but I don’t mind — I’m very competitive while playing, but once the game is over, it’s fine if I didn’t win. 🙂 — next board game night is Friday May 22, 7-9 p.m.
• I sold a pendant to a friend, and was pleased that I had coordinating tissue paper and a little velvet bag on hand.
