Busy weekend at Serendib House! Here’s some of the free stuff that’s happening:
- Friday 7-9: Board game night! We have many great games in-store; you’re also welcome to bring your own. I love teaching games — maybe you have one you were gifted and don’t know how to play? Bring it by and we’ll help you figure it out! (Did you know that you can borrow games from us and check them out for a week? It’s a game library!) Ages 14+.
- every Saturday, 9-11: yarn circle — bring some textile piece you’re working on — crochet, knitting, embroidery, weaving, etc. Ages 18+.
- Dive Bar Soap Company Grand Opening, 1-7 Saturday! It’s a party! Woot! All are welcome!
- Free hellebore raffle! Stop in during the Dive Bar grand opening party, anytime from 1-7 p.m. on Saturday, and collect a golden raffle ticket from Mary Anne. At the end of the day, we’ll draw one winner for hellebore “Wedding Bells” (value $25). Plant in your garden in part-shade now (under deciduous trees is ideal), water well for a few weeks, and then ignore — you’ll have beautiful double white flowers next spring, and every year afterwards, with no additional care required.
- every Sunday 10 -12: co-writing: bring something to work on quietly (and headphones) — fiction, e-mail, etc. We have tea! Ages 18+.
- Sunday 5-7: SF/F book club! We’ll be discussing Becky Chambers “A Psalm for the Wild-Built” — and it’s a novella, and a very fast read, so it’s not too late to grab a copy and read it before then. Light refreshments will be provided. (I might need a glass of wine after this weekend…) Ages 18+.
