Okay, yes, there was more food

Okay, yes, there was more food at last year’s writing workshop. Another day, we had gado-gado, which is SO MUCH BETTER than crudité. (Sorry, crudité!) An Indonesian dish, a mix of raw and boiled vegetables, served with a (preferably spicy) peanut sauce. I love it. Charmaine Solomon has a good recipe in her Complete Asian Cookbook.

Also pictured, one of the participants brought her own homemade candied orange rind, dipped in chocolate. And at some point we had cupcakes, I think from Tee Tee’s Sweets, along with cheese and crackers? That seems like an odd combination, thinking about it now, but that’s certainly what it looks like on the island in that photo, so I guess that’s what we did…

Application deadline for this year’s workshop is today!
