Very quick Wegovy pills update:
(original post with a lot more details:
• started the Wegovy 1.5 mg pills in early March (goal is to lose 15 pounds, putting me at top of healthy range for my height, important for both diabetes and avoiding reoccurrence of cancer)
• slight queasiness off and on (not nearly as bad as pregnancy, still annoying)
• asked doc if I could stay on the micro dose of 1.5 mg instead of going up to second tier of 4 mg for next month; she agreed
• since I don’t have that much weight I’m trying to lose, happy to lose relatively slowly; hoping a slower rate of loss will also help with maintaining skin tone (along with regular exercise, both swimming and lifting, plus a lot of gardening) — I’m hoping to avoid having a lot of flappy skin that will leave me wanting surgery
• finished the first month’s pills, down 5 pounds
• doc and I had communication difficulties (new computer system at hospital, not her fault); couldn’t get prescription refilled for a few weeks, so have been off the med for about two weeks
• don’t really mind, was curious what would happen once I went off; weight bobbled up a pound immediately after, then dropped down again (I’m guessing as I readjusted to eating the way I normally do); still down 5 pounds now
• talked to doc this morning, she’s calling in a 90 day prescription for Wegovy 1.5 pills (which my insurance covers; it’s a lot cheaper than Mounjaro and other injectables.)
That’s it. If pattern continues, expect to hopefully hit goal by the end of three month supply or a little sooner. Will report back then, or if anything significant changes!
