Work can co-exist with magic. πŸ™‚

It charms me, seeing Kevin’s hung his work shirt on the fairy tree in our bedroom. Work can co-exist with magic. πŸ™‚

Plan for today — I did a little resin work this morning, and reviewed my students’ journal entries and revised the syllabus — it’s perpetually being revised, esp. for the new course, as I see what their capacity is.

They’re really having trouble with the longer readings, but we’re going to try to power through, even if it takes longer than it used to. If I can start getting some of them used to reading longer works, that might be more useful long-term than anything else I teach them this semester.

Going in to teach shortly — going to try a little experiment in my food class; if it goes well, I’ll tell you about it. πŸ™‚

Then swing by Kinko’s to pick up my Grand Opening sign for the studio, swing by Walgreens to drop off a return package for Kevin and pick up meds for me and Anand, maybe stop at home and have some tea. But then I want to head over to the studio, paint some soaps for a custom order, weigh them and let her know what the shipping cost will be.

And keep pricing — I need to get prices on everything in store before Saturday, because I’ll be at the Chicago Artisan Market and Izzy will be covering the store, and she needs to know what things cost. πŸ™‚ Also, write the Valentine’s week hours on my chalkboard sign and put it in the window, so people know when we’re actually open. Maybe I should make a flyer too, for the door.

That’ll take me ’til 5-ish, I think. Maybe 6. I’m back to working all the time, right now, so a break for dinner, and then an evening of resin work, trying to have enough pieces for a good show this weekend (without completely denuding the studio). It’ll be nice when I’m actually selling things again and can afford to hire more help! It’s all feeling a little frantic at the moment, but I’m making my lists and checking things off, and that’s helping.

Need to order the sign for outside the shop! Need to measure first! Need to bring the ladder from home so I can get high enough to measure! It’s all sequence right now. I’d better get going — I need to get the dolly out of the car, so I have room to put the ladder in before I go to work…
