Cheery morning — it’s always a little easier to cope with the Chicago cold when the sun is out.
Amaryllises going strong — again, I’ve lost the tag for the many-flowered one (anyone know which one this is?). The darker red one is Bogotá, a South American amaryllis, one of the Cybister grouping (Hippeastrum cybister). Narrower leaves and a more modern look than traditional amaryllis.
You also get a pic of me because I wanted to leave a review for the sweater I’m wearing — I picked up a few from Oxknit, recently, because I was wanting some brighter colors and more flowers. They specialize in 60s and 70s vintage style, and most of their collection is too far in that direction for me, but there were a few pieces I really liked.
This one fits well, is easy to wear (when it’s this cold and I’m this tired, something slouchy is very appealing), is a nice weight for teaching in winter (thin sweaters are better because sometimes the classrooms are really overheated), and feels like good quality. We’ll see how it holds up!
Shipped from UK, so it took a little while to get to me. I’m wearing a Large. Link in comments.
