I have been sleeping much better since I got rigid about sleep hygiene, so in case it’s helpful — we all need good sleep to be ready to fight — this is my nighttime routine:
9:15 – start bath (often this happens partway through show with Kev; I just pause show)
9:45 – in bath with phone or Kindle (the temperature drop when you get out of a warm bath signals your body that it’s time to sleep; the hot water also staves off my restless leg syndrome)
10:15 – out of bath, brush teeth, floss if ambitious, lotion, meds
10:30 – in bed, phone turned to rain sounds and away, switch to Kindle
10:45 – usually asleep.
I have bent my routine by six whole minutes because I love you. Put away those devices and get some sleep! We need you well rested.
