I forgot to take photos of the group, but 4 hardy knitters / crocheters (why don’t we have a group noun for yarn people??) braved the negative temperatures to come to yarn circle this morning, and it was lovely. Next one is next Saturday, 9-11; all are welcome.
I asked whether there are any classes they’d like my studio to offer, and one person said they’d like a beginner crochet class. If enough people are interested, I’m happy to teach that. Let’s say Sunday morning, 10-12, February 8th? $50 — I can provide practice hooks and yarn, but if you want something you can take away with you, you’d bring your own.
I’d take you through the basics of crochet, but if you know chain and single crochet already, I can also teach you a little more, like magic circle (for starting round things, like hats and amigurumi), how to increase and decrease, sewing in ends, blocking, etc. I’ll have some basic patterns here, but if you have something you want to work on, you could also bring that along.
If you’re interested, let me know! If I get 5 people interested, I’ll put together a sign-up form for registration.
(This strip is being worked in mosaic crochet, a slightly advanced technique.)
