Kavi comes home today, HUZZAH! People have been asking how she’s doing at college, and I think she won’t mind me saying that getting COVID for the first time in the middle of semester knocked her for a bit of a loop, and it’s been a challenge getting caught up on everything.
But she survived, she did her best, which is all we ask, and life is long. She doesn’t have her grades yet, but as I keep telling her, I flunked calculus fall quarter freshman year — transitions are hard. (Granted, my having a boyfriend for the first time and an 8 a.m. class didn’t help. 🙂 )
She did talk her way into an advanced painting class (she was supposed to do the regular one first, but it didn’t fit her schedule, and she submitted a portfolio of drawings and paintings from high school, and the professor let her in). She is a perfectionist about her art, so she’s not happy with either of these, but her father and I think they’re just splendid.
