This was fun. A woman came into the store, browsed for a while, then asked whether I had any more of the gingko leaf rings. (The one that was out was done in autumn-colored botanicals, and she was more of a blue and green person). I checked, and I had one open bezel gingko leaf ring left.
She’d come in during a lull (yesterday was wacky, at one point I had 8 people jammed into my little shed store), so I said if she could give me 30 minutes, I’d be happy to design one for her in her preferred colors. She went for it, choosing specific elements out of the tray of botanicals I showed her, and then wandered off to the other Berwyn Shops.
She offered to pay me in advance, but I told her not to worry about it — the jewelry is selling so fast right now, if she didn’t like how this came out, I was happy to just add it to the store’s stock. But as it turned out, she loved it, and I’m really happy with how it came out too. 🙂
I can’t do this kind of on-the-spot custom designing very often — I don’t typically keep a lot of open bezels around, and I’m out of this style now. They come from an Etsy maker in Istanbul, who takes weeks to ship, so it’ll be a while before I have more, I’m afraid! But it was fun to do yesterday!
